The Tampere (Finland) based Dutch artist WILLEM MISKE seeks in his paintings for themes and seasonal effects, that enable him to portray nature with emotional, even poetic manner, as well as to present the own aesthetic qualities.

The starting point in many of Willem Miske his works has been the exploration of his own feelings and state of mind, rather than the traditional depiction of nature.

Quote: "Nature is an inscrutable part of our being.
Bright, dark, a lost connection vanishing in an artificial reality".

It is that lost connection, that he tries to make visible through his work.

The landscapes keep the viewer at a distance, urging him to stand still and enter into the tranquil, almost mystical spirit of nature in his paintings.

For Willem Miske, nature is a mystery, the peace of which he does not want to disturb not even in his paintings.
